Faded Depth Symbol

In AutoCAD 2006, when I use the depth symbol in dimension mode I get the standard symbol, in plain text - {\Famgdt;x}, but when I click on the depth symbol in the _amnote mode, it gives me some faded version - {\fAMGDT|b0|i0|c0|p0;x}. Does anyone know how to change the default symbol location for the _amnote command?

It looks like it's a side affect of the True Type Font AMGDT. The power dimension tool shares some of the same symbols that do not diplay this affect. However, they use the amgdt.shx font not the true type one. Hopefully it will corrected in the next release.

I think so, but I'm not entirely sure. Can you give me detailed steps to duplicate the issue you had and I can try it in 2007; I do not use this symbol, so I am not entirly familiar with it.

Hi Brenda,

Run the AutoCAD Mechanical Qleader command. When the dialog box pops up to enter text, click on the symbols button (located in the upper right corner in 2006). (See attachment)

Select the depth symbol that looks like an arrow pointing downward. (see Second Attachment).

When notes using this symbol are printed they appear washed out or faded. This affect is less noticable if you are zoomed into just that part of the drawing. But, when the leader note is small in relation to the size of the drawing (which they usually are) it is almost invisible.

For those users that have AutoCAD Mechanical 2006. This issue has been resolved with Service Pack 2.
