View Full Version : raster images in 6 families
Has anyone tried to import a raster image in a Revit 6 Family?
My option is greyed out... same for everyone?
I used to be able to import in 5.1...

I dont know anything about raster images in families.
That said, if you didn't uninstall 5.1, couldn't you create the family in 5.1, then upgrade it to 6.0?
Just curious, can you explain how you are using raster images in families?
Ciao!

I've been able to load them into generic annotation families.
I haven't tried, or had the need to load them into any other families.
I use raster images in families when I have a jpg and no vector file of something I need to create as a family.
Up to 5.1, I could import the jpg in the family editor and retrace over it, with a little difficulty, of course, but just to have it as a guideline... the actual dimensions I would put in manually...
I figured I was going to do it the way you suggested, but after a couple of quick tries, I went back to Autocad and retraced the families there then imported the dwg in my family.
Still, I think you should be able to import raster in families, in fact, I would like to use something like decalc's in families too, so I could place it in basically any family.
An example of this: all kinds of signs!
