Hey folks...

I am in the process of setting up a test group and defining new procedures for using electronic markups, which is something our company has never done before. We are using our planning group (small...only 4 planners) and the tech group here in this office for the test.

The plan is to use the Markup Set Manager and DWF Composer. So far in my personal testing, this seems to work very well in going back and forth.

I was just wondering if any other folks on here were currently doing electronic markups, perhaps using this method, and how well it is working for you. And lessons learned you might like to share?

Thanks!

My company currently owns 50 copies of DWF Composer and it has been deployed to our entire engineering and installation staff in a number of location across the country. So far everything seems to be working pretty well with a few accept ions.

Our engineers currently use DWF Writer to convert all of the engineering designs from .doc files to .dwf. These .dwf files are then attached to a job ticketing system and deployed to our installation technicians. Once the installs are complete, any deviation from the scope of work is recorded as red-lines using Composer in the field and sent back to engineering to review and submit to the CAD department for drawing updates.

We have been using this method for about two months. The majority of the issues that we encountered have been due to user error and network issues.
