1 line piping in a 2 line setting

I have created a 1-line style for both 1 & 2 line views for pipe smaller than 2". When viewing this in abs 1-line all my "T down" symbols are correct When viewing as 2-line, my 1-line (small pipe) shows "( )" like "C" or pipe down and in the wrong orientation.

any suggestions? Is there a patch for this?
