"Chain" option for Measure tool

I was using the measure tool yesterday, and needed to find the overall length of a series of lines. I had to do this with the measure tool multiple times, and add it up manually. I thought it would be great to have a 'chain' check box like the line tool, so that we could get a calculated measurement over a series of picks.

I did this a couple of weeks ago and went "WHAT!". This great program can't add chained lines :x and I had to add them myself :cry: . I would like this added please.
