Hi All,
what do you suggest creating a courtain wall with a shading system such as this ? http://www.merlo-brise-soleil.it/lineaht.htm
Do you suggest to create a simple specic family for the brise soleil and then put it over a mullion in 3d model?
I think there is not a set of object hosted by courtain wall (beneath is it possible for walls)....
I Though also to create a particular glazing panel which include the shading system...will it work fine?
Cheers

I would still create the curtain wall from Revit's system wall family, with all the advantages of that, and model the brise soleil as a separate family.

Like he (beegee) said.
I have a client who wanted to put the mullions behind the curtain wall with no gap between the panes. You can't do that with one curtain system at present; you have to model the mullions behind the wall separately.

In this instance you could model the briese soleil as a profile and then use it ina railing across the front of the cutrain wall. This may be perfomance efficient too.
You would need to consider whether you needed the pretty cast detail at the ends. If you are rendering you might, if it is for general use then a couple of detail components might suffice.

So you're suggesting to create the brise soleil as a railing creating so a railing system family with the specific profile! It looks interesting...specially because I've need to produce some deatils drawings..
thank you

I would build the sunshade as a sep. family(structural framing, because that gives the best dimensional controls, generic models can't allways dim to center. any way then load that into a curtain wall panel family, load that into your model and any panels that have the sunshade swap with this new panel family.

I have never had a propblem dimensioning to center of generic families so long as I put an invisible model line in the family and lock it to the center...

You could create the brise soleil as another curtin wall/sloped glazing with the empty system panel. See attached image
(Note: Building is from my interim MArch. thesis presentation. and did change a bit.
(Edited because of wrong settings, to use to ACAD and cannot spell.)
