Just had a UPS die on us. What's a good, low cost uninterrupted power source for a single computer?

I like APC's products, not cheap but they work! My last office had one at each PC since the local power grid was notorious for drop out or off completely. Saved our bottoms many times.

I really like my APC Back-UPS XS 1000. It cost about $120 or so, but is a great unit, has a nice interface to see exactly what is going on with it and offers me 15 minutes of battery time for my local attached printer, scanner, 21" CRT, 19" fp, CPU, phone, fan, mouse, external hard drive, palm pilot, and laptop. It can be customized to come on or not per your settings.

Allen,

when you say die - my UPS (Sola 325 - American equivalent is Best Power) has a replaceable battery. Maybe its just a case of changing the battery rather than turfing ythe whole lot out ???

Yea,

My APC unit has a replacable battery too. My battery died and I went to Interstate Battery and bought a new replacement battery for $35. That's a heck of a lot cheaper than buying a new entire unit. Oh yea, and the UPS has been working just fine.

Thanks for the input guys. My old UPS was about 8 years old, don't think that they are made anymore. I ended up with an APC 725VA.
