I got the majority of my training in school, Sam...the rest I just sort of picked up on my own!
But lemme tell ya - so far, CADCamp is very

The last time I needed to go for training was when my company wanted me to be somewhat literate in Microstation (yuk!). I held my nose and sucked it up for that week.
From my perspective, most CAD dealers and trainers are in Dallas and not on this side of the county line.
I did go to CAD Camp a few months ago. That was the best training I've had in quite some time. It was well worth the time and investment. Otherwise I get my training support on my own and here in AUGI.

Im curious to know where everyone gets thier training?? Try this page on Autodesk's website (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=123112&id=3001477)to find a reseller near you that offers training.

I had training on ACAD 10 through a local community college and spent 1/2 at a reseller learning about inventor. I went to AU twice and learned even more. Everything else I learned by doing and through my network.

I had to go and learn Catia......piece of junk. I hate the way you have to be using
certain modules in order for some of the randomly placed toolbars to show up.
I literally have to drag the toolbars from outerspace (lower right hand corner of screen).
I learned most of my AutoCad skills through vocational school courses and beind such a computer junkie, I tinkered around alot.

I got my initial training in AutoCAD (version 10 & 12) through the local community college where i took my Technologist's diploma. After that it was mostly tinkering and self traing..mostly by just playing with the software. I've also taken some training from the local reseller,I use AUGI alot and Autodesk university if you can go rocks. No CAD camps in my area :( not close enough to a big city.

Since the similar threads feature works mostly based on thread title (I think), I have edited this post to have a more appropriate thread title. Hopefully that will help a little ;)

Yes I have attended his training sessions. Regardless of any personal opinions others may have about him he knows the Autodesk civil products inside and out. Please feel free to PM or email me if you have further questions.

I know multiple people that have trained with Michael and I've had him write articles for a CAD publication I'm involved with. The person you would see in here and the person you get in the real world are two very different things. If he's in your area, he's worth taking a class from.

My "experience" in school was virtually worthless. The best experience one gets is being thrown in - immersed in it. It's the best way to learn to drive a stick-shift, to learn a language...to do most things. Learning CAD in school, to me, was a joke.
