I engineer a lot of custom homes. Some use manufactured roof trusses but more and more are going for the stick built roof. I did a job a while back, which is posted below, which was done before there was a Revit structure. With your experience, is is possible for Revit to produce a stick model that could be sent to Risa or Etabs that I could do the vertical calcs from. Many of the connections are bearing conditions, for example, rafter to ridge beam. The center line of the Rafter doesn't line up with the center line of the Ridge Beam. How do you connect these to make a good analytical model. I know commercial buildings are a slam-dunk in Revit Structure, but what about buildings with non-flat roofs. It it even possible or am I wasting my time?

Hi Erik, are you running revit structure or revti building?

I am impressed with the modelling job!
