One invaluable tip which was mentioned a while back was that while inserting a wall if the components need to be flipped you can hit the space bar and it will flip the wall. I am a bit slow, but I just realized that this also works for doors. If the door hand needs to flip you don't have to be slowed down by fiddling with the little arrows - just hit the space bar while inserting and the door will flip on the fly.

You are not too slow, this was added in 6.0.

I'd like to see this one extended so it worked with the ref plane tool as well. I can never remember which way I have to draw if I am using an offset distance .... is it left to right, top to bottom or the other way around?

Is there somewhere where these types of productivity enhancements for each release are documented? I know that there's a "What's New for this Release" info, but I don't recall seeing little gems like this and others that have been posted on Zoog.

Cogen,

Productivity enhancements like this are documented in the Release Notes and also in the Help and Tutorials. All of these files are on the Revit CD and also available on the web at:

Ya, no kidding... it would be nice if the refplane showed you which way is the direction of the extrusion if it's positive. There's nothing like showing the students how to extride from a ref plane and having to say "sometimes you have to make length negative"! Doh!
