I have a client looking for some information on how Revit works with KIP Plotters. Apparently he's heard that Revit had or has issues with this specific manufacturer. So it falls to me to track down some evidence to support or debunk this rumor.

Does anyone out there use a KIP Plotter that could let me know of any issues or non-issues that you've had with it and Revit?

Thanks for the help,

I just spoke to a tech at KIP America and was assured that the new Windows driver alleviates the issues from a couple of years ago. It allows both HPGL-2 and Postscript functionality. The issues I was hearing about happening earlier were in regard to using an HP driver with the KIP Printer. That was the only information I was able to find.

Again, anyone with current information of a Kip Printer and Revit setup would be much appreciated.

Thanks

We have a kip 6000 plotter and have no issues plotting from Revit to it. The only weird thing we do have with it happens in Autocad. We have to set the driver properties to portrait and the drawing properties to landscape or it will not print correctly. Therefore, we have to manually do this each time we plot. However, I haven't checked for any new drivers for about a year, so that could be the problem.

We have KIP 6000 plotters in each of our offices. I think the software interface is somewhat cumbersome, but otherwise no significant problems in operation.
