Is there a way connect our detail tags to the view list to number them automatically?

If you mean in the SSM pane, no I don't think so. It could probably be done with a 3rd party routine though. This is how we renumber the sheets.

Can you expand on what it is you want a bit? I thought that is what the SSM does.

If you are talking about your little callout bugs on your plan sheets, yes they can be linked to the "Sheet Views" list and will number automatically. If you are talking about the number in the detail title on your detail sheets, yes that can be linked as well.
