Label families - more categories

Starting to create my own families (at last) and want to create a room tag that has a number and a name. sounds easy but I also want to be able to 'turn off' the name in some sheets and the number in others.
Half a day later.....any suggestions!?

Sure. Create a tag that has the name and number. Another tag that just has the name and another tag that just has the number.

Load them. In the individual views, select all and swap out the types for the new style. Takes no time at all.

Excellent...so easy!
I tell you,, everytime I try and do something that I think is tricky, there seems to be a really easy way which then opens up a whole lot of understanding of the product.....seems I have to much Autocad in my brain!

In Revit 6.1, it sounds like you will have the ability to do what you wanted in one tag. I haven't tested it yet, but 6.1 is supposed to have parametrically controlled display of family objects. You could create the tag, and have on/off switches for the text.
