Don't know if this is the right spot to post - mods feel free to move where required...

Just a heads up...
I have tried a pdf-dxf convertor when I lost a file once a few months back, you can get the basic line work to recreate ok but as far as the rest of the drawing it is a fairly messy product. Even the text becomes a lot of individual pieces.

It beats a redraw... but only just

Brother Blads, I'm going to move this from the CAD Management General forum to this one...

Which pdf-dxf convertor? or is that what you're trying to find?
have you seen any of the previous threads on pdf and dxf (http://forums.augi.com/search.php?searchid=333513)? or pdf and dwg (http://forums.augi.com/search.php?searchid=333517)?

Didn't no there was more than one available - I used Aide CAD Systems PDF-to-DXF converter. Details can be found here (http://www.aidecad.com) - although I wouldn't bother.

Adobe Illistrator can open PDF's and save out DWG's. Might be better than a converter. But a lot more expensive, too. :D

I haven't done much in that direction, to be honest. I've more exported out of Revit via DWG into Illustrator, which works well enough to get the job done. The only time I've exported DWG/DXF out of Illustrator is to pull in either signage graphics into Revit to use in making Families or pulling it into the CNC software I use. So I don't really know if it would be much better than what you tried, but at least text would probably stay text, curves curved, and the like, if you know what I mean.
