Open the API or build in the functionality to allow IGES, STEP, and other format creation to occur automatically either at check-in, a revision change at check-in, or at least a user button and check boxes and options to create alternate format files at check-in. Also create the functionality to add a suffix (or a prefix) to the files (If the part number is "321456", adding "REV A" to create a file 321456 REV A.igs), by inserting a text string such as REV and pulling the suffix from the Revision data field. We've had discussions with Imaginit regarding creating a routine to do this, but their inquiries with Autodesk revealed the API is not open in these areas of functionality to allow this.
We like the dwf format and we use it internally, but our most of our customers contractually require pdf files. We would like the ability to also generate pdf files in the same manner. Adobe seems to be a bad word around Autodesk, but the reality is the world has adopted pdf as a primary exchange format of 2D documents and drawings.
