I've just been informed that we are switching from Novell to WinNT as our server software.
As a Cad Manager, is there any thing I should prepare for?

A2k5 & A2k6 Vanilla Standalone versions on 7 systems.

Thx

Hi

Can I please ask, why your company is going with a product that is no longer officially supported by Microsoft ( various maintenance, support etc relating to the running of Windows NT Server have been discontinued through 2005 ).

Have a good one, Mike

Good question. I was told WinNT server by my boss who is even less network saavy than myself. I would imagine he was told Windows Server by our IT vendor. That is the current networking server software correct?

Sorry, I do not quite follow ( please bear with me, I tend to be a bit slow )...

I believe the most up to date Microsoft Server Software is Windows Server 2003 ( Windows Server System Home (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserversystem/default.mspx) ).

No sorry necessary...

Microsoft Exchange Server relates primarily to email, see here ( What is Exchange Server? (http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/evaluation/whatis.mspx) ).
