An internal company client wants a cut-away hidden line perspective view exported to a high-res graphic file. I have the view they want but no matter what I try in Export/Image, all of the perspective lines come out very very jagged. It seems as if the result is totally based on what displys on the screen. Is that the case? Is there not way to get smooth lines?

What settings / image size are you using for your render ?

Its not a render but an Export Image under the File dropdown. The reason I' was doing that is becasue they wanted a line drawing, not a rendering. They want line edges, not surfaces.

You can still use the image size settings and also the dialogue under the "export image" to control image quality.

Bump up the dpi and export as a bitmap, then open in Photoshop, or sim, and reduce the image size there, and then save as jpg or tiff etc.

I tried a 600 dpi bitmap and the results were worse. The person needs an electronic file that is high-res and no matter what settings I use, the image file looks exactly like the screen image.

Well, here's what I did to get something decent:

Plot with raster set at Presentation.

Scan image into graphics program at 600 dpi.

Jagged lines gone (now I hope they don't care that some lines are missing!)

Have you placed the view on a sheet before exporting it?

That might solve it.

I wasn't able to get a high enough resolution image out of Revit either after trying all settings. I finally tried a 3rd party print driver that allows direct printing to JPG. The one I used was called Miraplacid Publisher. It produced high resolution images.
