View Full Version : Sliding Pocket Door
I am having trouble making a sliding pocket door family. I cannot make all three doors parametric for some reason. There are too many lines linked/locked together. Also, I can't even align the doors next to each other. This is probably a basic question, as I started Revit a few days ago.
Thanks for your help,
David

Hi dtm,
I haven't had time to look at your door yet.
For the moment, you would be better to use either the Revit or RUGI content, which work well, or else, modify one of those.

I see a couple of problems with the door, but don't have time to go into them right now. I have attached a very similar door I created a while back. Use at your own risk and feel free to modify it. FYI, in the future I would use a nested family to create this door type.
Jim and Beegee,
Thanks for your help. Jim, did you use nested families to create your door? I have learned a lot from it, but don't see any additional families nested in your file (still a newbie). One thing different from yours and mines is that the glass edge and the edge of the next door are in line and that has been giving me a lot of problems. Is this something you intentionally did to avoid the line linking issues?
Thanks for your file.

I did not nest families in that one. I built it in release 3.0. I am not even sure if you could nest families then.
The glass in mine is as I intended. You can get the effect you want too with a little tweaking.

Do you happen to have a single sliding pocket door? I can't find one for free online and RevitCity is currently down.
No idea where I picked up the attached - it seems to be in Spanish but easily understood
The Revit-content.com people have single and double pocket doors for sale -here is the single:

Any chance you could save the Door Pocket Simple so that it can be used in 2009?
Thanks
Sorry, I wondered about that just after I posted it.
I do keep a complete library of 2009 content but that door must have been in 2010 format when I downloaded it as I can't find it in my 2009 libraries.
I've had a look to see where it might have come from and will look again tomorrow.
In the meantime I've come across a couple of others:
http://www.revitcity.com/downloads.php?action=view&object_id=4754
and halfway down this page:
http://www.revitfamilyman.com/new3revitfotwpage.htm
Found it - the original was in 2009 format which I must have customised and saved in 2010 format.
This is a plain door, I also seem to have a glazed door and double doors if you want them.
I would think that they may originally have came from the Revit Espana content as I used to trawl through the supplied libraries for other countries.

Thanks for tracking down the 2009 format - it worked great and I really appreciate your time.

I also seem to have a glazed door
Could I get that glazed pocket door from you?
I think these are the two glazed pocket doors - in 2010 format but I probably still have them in 2009 format somewhere if that is what you need.
If you want more flexibility the Revitcontent.com people have a pocket door family:

plus other doors
