Hey guys this may be a simple one but has me stumped
i have Acrobat Professional 6.0 & when printing from Revit 8.1 it doesnt allow me to make multiple pdf files, or a multi page pdf
im printing out 5 sheets and it ends up overwriting the first 4 with the last pdf sheet
it appears that it is not appending the sheet name to the pdf file name
is there a setting in revit 8.1 or acrobat that im missing?
Cheers & a Merry Christmas

Thanks for that
i have downloaded the revitpdf4.2 & have also encounted the margin problems that others have
what i have found is that in the acrobat settings i can tick the "prompt for filename" option but this is pretty useless for 100+ pdf sheets
i have installed dwf2 (print to dwf then print to pdf) but this crashes after i get past 10 sheets
i will try other pdf programs & see what they turn out like
Cheers

I would love to know what you come up with for a good PDF writer - although I am still trying to sell the merits of DWF. :)
Am I doing something wrong with DWF? I find it useless to send to clients. Surface patterns are not being exported, so brick or stone just becomes a single shaded color. Walls that have been edited to have like stone below and brick above with split regions just comes across as the bottom material. DWF is pretty much useless except maybe 2d.

I have been using the Scansoft PDF converter profession 3 and having good luck with it. only $79.00.
You also can copy and paste text from a PDF file to text with the converter.

We've been fiddling with PDF Factory too. Works great, though I note:
you have to set the software to embed all fonts -- by default NO fonts are embedded. But once you turn embedding on, you're set for life
it doesn't allow batch plotting of single sheets. This is a problem which we haven't solved since our repro shop prefers single sheets per PDF file. They print them in reverse so they appear in order for stapling and binding
If we get the second issue addressed I'll let you know. PDF Factory is a bit weird in that the "dispatcher" sits in the background and collects PDFs as they come from ANY application. So you print fifty Arch E1's from Revit, then some 11x17's from AutoCAD, some specs from Word and they'll all get concatenated into one file. :screwy:

You're correct about no single sheet option - I haven't found any setting.. I've told my repro house to deal with it, including collating properly 'cause the G sheets print after the A sheets. They change the order when they queue it up. They complain just a little but it's way easier for them than somebody giving them a native Vectorworks or Autocad file.
I've got it so the Dispatcher just pops up when I print - I then review before saving the pdf, then close it so I don't capture anything else. No biggy.
