This is the type of that that I really wanted to know if Revit could produce when I first started using it. These drawings were produced from the planning stage model ie designing stopped, to building warrant stage as shown in about 3.5 days. The transition from planning stage Drawings to Building warrant is very fast, and producing the planning stage drawings is very very fast :D when compared to Autocad. The site/location is imported from Autocad.

Hi Martin,

I was assuming that Building Warrant is what we call Building Approval, where the Local Authority or Building Certifier checks and stamps the drawing prior to construction, but on reflection I think it must be what we call " Development Approval " stage ( Town Planning ). There is a lot of specification information there if thats the case, so maybe this is a different stage of approval all together ?

I was also intrigued by the inclusion of some "entourage" elements ( cars and people in plan ) and by the inclusion of the electrical plan. Whats the purpose of that if the plan is indeed for DA ?

Also, do you plot in colour - for the dimensions and wiring diagram ?

Really nice drawings, thanks for posting.

I finally was able to open the DWF file by saving as target. I actually like the DWF fromat. Very beautiful set of drawings - thank you for posting these and getting the CD forum off to such a good start!

Many text and dimension characters seem to be dropped in this dwf file. It looks as if text font is not fully embedded. Is it just my computer or other people can see the same problem?

 its probably my spelling!

Building warrant is I think what you would call approval. We have 2 stages with the local Authority, first stage is planning approval where they tell you if it looks ok. The second stage is Warrant where they tell you if it complies or not with the building standards ie things like smoke alarms etc. Part of the building warrant includes electrical fixtures, ie there must be a certain amount of power supplies, smoke alarms etc - so we just do the whole lot at that time for contractors etc to price.

I do the electrical layouts and dimensions in colour for my own benefit only, it just makes it a bit easier to read the drawing on the screen - the original prints are in colour but we just copy them black and white. The entourage stuff is just to bring them to life and because I tarting up my drawings a bit.

Thanks for all the positive comments :D
