User Definable Curtain Wall Mullion Families

I would like the current mullion "system families" to become user definable. Ideally, they would use "profile" families to define thier shape. This would allow us to model several new types of curtain wall systems, including butt "glass fin" systems just to name one. :idea:

Yes this would be nice. As the use of external profiles has been implimented so well in other areas of Revit it would be the logical step to have CW mullions use this. Although, I could see the potential for some very heavy files given the potential for complexity in some profiles.
Have designed and are currently building a couple of sets with glass fin curtain walls and a few hundred Spider fittings. It would be nice to be able to more accurately represent this in the model + drawings.

Isn't this being discussed someplace else at the moment?

An alternate solution to resolving the mullion query would simply be to make curtain walls able to support wall hosted generic models.
