I need to steal a checkout in Inventor 10 from an old design that was done with a semi isolated or shared project environment. Unfortunately, one of my designers updated the project file before opening all of the files. Now he can’t modify one of the files.

Any ideas? Besides torture for the original designer.

Any ideas? Besides torture for the original designer.Have you tried the Checkin-Checkout All utility from Charlie Bliss's website? This should clean the check marks on all the directories. You can find it here (http://www.cbliss.com/inventor/iCode/index.htm).

The only other way I know how to do it is to create a new, temporary project that's set to shared. Then you can use that project to manually steal all the checkouts.

THEN you can torture the user. :-)
