View Full Version : Stretch on block moves it

In previous release of Autocad the entire block needed to be in the crossing window, or at least the insertion point to move the block.

Now in 2006 when only a small part of the block is selected it moves, not even required to select an endpoint.

Is there a setting where disable this feature ?? very annoying

Thanks

Hi

Try this thread ( Stretch is move (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=24571) ).

Plus, maybe try searching (http://forums.augi.com/search.php?) this forum ( AutoCAD 2006 General (http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=197) ) using the following search criteria...

Key Word(s): Stretch

Have a good one, Mike

Do you have the latest service pack? I think (but I could be wrong) that this might have been fixed with that service pack.

Yes latest service pack is installed

(Build: 272, Release: 10 SP3a ) for inventor Series 10.

Just to clarify, is this happening when you are running Inventor, or (assuming you have the inventor suite) happening when running AutoCAD or Mechanical?

We have the suite and are only working with mechanical or inventor
i have tested it on several workstations even on a XP x64edition PC it remains the same

Please note I have *moved* this thread from the AutoCAD 2006 General (http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=197) forum to this one...

If you would rather see this thread in the Inventor 10 General (http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=216) forum, please let me know. I will then happily take care of it.

Thanks, Mike

I had this problem with Mechanical, and the service pack fixed it. It was a known bug in AutoCAD Mechanical. AutoCAD Mechanical 2006 Service Pack SP1a.

Since I don't use the suite, I'm not overly familiar with how the service packs work. You may need to install the mechanical service pack, but I really don't know. I would have thought it would have been included with the Inventor SP, but maybe not.

Service packs & hotfixes for ACADM are idependent of those for Inventor.

Also please note this little bit of advice from Autodesk:

"If you have installed AutoCAD Mechanical 2006 from the Autodesk Inventor Series 10 CDs or Autodesk Inventor Professional 10 CDs, you will need to install Autodesk Mechanical Desktop 2006 Service Pack 1a for either Autodesk Inventor Series 10 or Autodesk Inventor Professional 10 instead of this service pack."

Thanks this has solved my problems.

For others here the link to the correct service pack
http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=5943625&linkID=4183232

Autodesk should make sure when you look for service packs for your type of Autocad version all the available service packs are listed to avoid such problems.
