Publishing & File Save

I wonder if any one else has come across the following event.

After working on a file using Mechanical Desktop 2006 and publishing a number of layouts and closing the file, the usual save changes dialogue box doses not appear and the file reverts to the unedited version.

Is this a bug or am I missing something.
