I'm trying to delete some elements from my project, but when I do I get an error that says "Can't edit the element. It was deleted in the central file". I have no idea what to do here.

***EDIT***

I found my solutions. I forgot about the "Detach from Central" Option. Thanks.

Someone else working on the project checked out and deleted the object befroe you go to it. You'll either need to have them put it back by undoing or it will need to be recreated. Reload worksets to see what changes others have made.

*Edit*
Detach from central would not be a "solution" - unless you are sure you want to lose the changes in the central file for this local/new file.

Someone else has already deleted the element. If you think it shouldn't have been deleted then you can recreated a similar element by selecting it, Copy to Clipboard, and Paste Aligned | Same Place. This might lose some of the connections to other elements such as dimensions, edited wall joins, and attachment to roof.

But, it's risky to do this without knowing why someone else deleted the element. For example:
- If the other user did a Move with the Disjoin option, then internally that deletes the element and creates a new one. If you create another one, then you'll end up with two elements that, from your standpoint, are the same element, though the software will think of them as two different elements.
- If the other user deleted the Type or Family of the element, then if you make a new version of that element it will be deleted when you save to central, since it depends on a Type or Family that no longer exists.

Better to find out why it was deleted.
