I have a 3d square that needs to be made bigger. When I slice I didn't know how to make one side 2" larger without exploding. What can I do to make my 3d square, using slice, longer in Cad 2004 version

You have to add a solid ( create or copy ) and then use union
or extrude a face with command _solidedit

You cut with slice

Hi "sherflor" ( Sorry, I do not know your real name )

Please note I have *moved* this thread from the AutoCAD Customization (http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=118) forum to this one, as I feel this particular forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.

Thanks, Mike

Try 'Extude Faces', 'Offset Faces' or 'Move Faces'. At least one of them should work for you.

It may be quicker to Scale the solid to larger than necessary then slice it.

True in general but, in this case, "I have a 3d square that needs to be made bigger".

Yes, but to "make one side 2" larger" ( OP:s ) must be easiest to use
Command: _solidedit Face Extrude (select the edge) Remove (one unwanted face ) Enter 2" Enter Enter

What works here is to use the separate command-Face-Move- this will actually extend the object too. Thanks for the good ideas. I now have more then one way of looking at this.
