Sections with Detail Callouts

I have some sections that I have added detail to that I would like to add some callouts to to show some additional details. The sections are at 3/8" = 1'-0" and I want to add some 1 1/2" details to the set of drawings. I add the callout and everything works great - until I change the 'display model' property from 'as underlay' to 'do not display'. The callouts disappear. I assume that the callouts are linked to the model - however, I want to be able to show the detail lines/elements without the hatched model underlay. How can I do this in Revit? Thanks.

yes, the callouts are part of the model. The best way around this is to leave the model displayed as underlay or normal. Then go into the Visibility/Graphics dialog (VG is shortcut command) and uncheck "show model elements in this view" or simply turn off all the the elements that you don't want to see individually. The first is probably the easiest, and it will leave all annotation objects on.
