hey guys some of you remember last time i had problem with item tags with text rotating on its own well that has been solved and i went on to create many awesome working dynamic blocks

but i have new problem now

recently i made tag where the callout was square , well i bet you can guess what happened when i rotated the line . the line end point followed the definition of a circle so when u reached the corner of the square the line would jut into the tag

please see attached file for pic. what would like to know (if it is even possible) that when u move the end point of the line the line will not encroach into block.

FWIW, i had good luck bypassing that issue using a wipeout slightly inset of tag boundary. you can't tell it's not a clean trim/intersection after being printed.

i don't fully understand i inserted your block and the line sticks in 2 mm at the point of the polygon and less as you rotate teh line it towards the top

i don't fully understand i inserted your block and the line sticks in 2 mm at the point of the polygon and less as you rotate teh line it towards the topi apologize... i recently renovated this block based on past input within this thread and haven't fully given it the proper 'test drive'. in the attached, i fixed it by sending the leader line 'under' the wipeout.

what i did was use the polar stretch, but had the line extend to a distance as if a circle were inscribed within the polygon. that way, when rotated towards a flat face, it would closely match the marker frame, but if rotated about a polygonal vertex, the wipeout would hide enough of the intruding tail to 'look' clean when printed. the reason the wipeout is offset as it is, is so that it wouldn't obscure the marker polygon itself when printed.

i know it looks and sounds like a hack job, but everyone in my office that uses it seems to like it's behavior.

rj,
try this. when plotting, just make sure your 'wipeout frames' are turned off. (i have a macro that makes sure in don't forget in my plot toolbar button)

i figured out the wipe out command wow never knew of such a command how come the polygon doesn't hide the text but it covers the intruding tail end of the line. it doing exactly what i want it to do. i just made the polygon the same size as my text box that way it did not get extra bold when printed and it works.. thank you it was really appreciate.. the wonders of AutoCAD

the wonders of AutoCADhehehe... makes you wonder how much brain damage you get by banging your head against the wall? ;)

really, there are too many reasons like this to love augi... especially the tips and tricks forum (http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=180).

yup. the community and the helping nature of this environment really helps people understand AutoCAD better.

and now how about posting some of those awesome Dynamic Blocks you were raving about before? ;)

and now how about posting some of those awesome Dynamic Blocks you were raving about before? ;)here! here! for me, this is both fun and VERY educational as i learn a TON (imperial, of course) in here.

i too, would like to see what your creative mind has assembled.... don't be shy about showing off in the Sharing (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=28359)... thread.... ;)
