I don't know how to do this change for a custom WBlock command. Please look at the attachment to get you think on how it could be done. I will be back tomorrow to explain what I would like to do.

Thank you,

Brad

It looks like you are adding "Name", "Insert Units", and "Description". "Insert Units" is already in the stock dialog, "Name" and "Description" have no meaning in a drawing, only a block definition.

Or are you wanting to create a block definition in one drawing and have it added to another drawing?

Sorry about that. I over looked the insert units area. I will update that idea.
The way I came up with this idea was by taking the existing WBlock dialog box (Dialog Boxes.zip) and the existing Block Dialog box (Dialog Boxes.zip) to create the idea in the previuos zip file at the start of this thread. What I did was by adding the Preview Icon, and the Drag and DropUnits and the description. I seperated the file name and path. So now you have a place to only put the block name instead of including it to the file name.

If oyu have any suggestions please express them.

Other than separating the name and path (like it used to be in 2002 http://www.progesoft.com/compra/images/wblock.png )

...what is the advantage?

The description field has no meaning in a new drawing. Where would this information be stored?

Sorry, not trying to be critical, I just don't see the purpose. Thanks.

Sorry, not trying to be critical, I just don't see the purpose. Thanks. Why is it used in the Block dialog box i the description filed is not needed? Isn't the information stored with the block? The advantage I think to have the name and path seperated would make it more product. Right now when you create a Wblock. You have to go to the end of the path that you have selected and erase the new block.dwg and replace it with the new name. It would be a lot fast to to only have to worry about added the name without following the end of the path to change the name. this would be ideal when you are creating block that are exported to another file.

Thank you,

Brad

A BLOCK definition has a description, but the WBLOCK command creates a DWG file, which doesn't contain a "description".

I prefer the current dialog, and I assume it was changed due to beta tester comments or maybe the AUGI wishlist from the 2002 dialog (http://www.progesoft.com/compra/images/wblock.png) to the way it is now (http://mdouglas.blogs.com/in_the_dynamic_interface/images/wblock.JPG)

I can certainly appreciate a different opinion though. Good luck.
