You're asking if you want the Benz or the Ford as your company car? I'm as Rah Rah American as anybody, but I think I'll take the Benz, thankyouverymuch. Unless I'm paying for it out of my pocket, in which case I"ll take one of Henry's cars.

What about a 26" lcd widescreen from Olevia???
Seems those are going for around $500 theses days.
Really nice for watching movies.

Would that double as a good pc screen?

No the resolution is too low. Good for movies; but not good for CAD.

Check this out. 3 - 30" display, requires 2 high end video cards to setup.

Check this out. 6 - 24" display, requires 3 high end video cards to setup & motherboard with 3 PCI express slots.

Verify the graphic card that you have, it needs to be a dual dvi -d pci express card.

I got a new card for 350.00 from Dell that works great.

Group;

I just heard about this new sale price for the 30” LCD monitor $1.530.00.
They say it is for a limited time only; which is about 30% off the original price.
Now Apple will have to reduce their monitors again because of Dell.

Isn't it the other way around? I heard that Apple dropped their prices a week or two ago... though not that low.

All else being pretty equal I'd go for the cinima so I could get the VESA mount. These huge monitors start to sag after a while and being able to upgrade the mount adds to the long term value.

Here is the Display I'd love to get my hands on
Ultimate Display (http://www.panoramtech.com/products/pv230.html)

Or 3 Rear Projection Smartboards (http://www2.smarttech.com/st/en-US/Products/SMART+Boards/Rear+Projection/iw/default.htm)

Could a 30-in. monitor help you do your job faster? (http://news.yahoo.com/s/macworld/30inch20061011)

We did our own informal study in the office when we moved from 19" to 24" monitors and actually saw the biggest improvements in AutoCAD and less so in Revit. We also saw huge jumps in a few specific tasks, such as editing schedules. What we didn't find was any negatives... other than the initial cost.

Hopefully we can get a 30" for less money now; since Samsung will be joining Dell (LG Industries) to give Apple some much needed competition.

Apple’s 30-in. display hasn’t had much competition in that size range since its introduction, but Samsung Electronics America will debut its own 30-in. LCD monitor later this month at an estimated $1,999, said Andy Weis, a product marketing manager at Ridgefield Park, N.J.-based Samsung.
