I've posted a proposal at my blog in an article called Revit Inside (http://revitoped.blogspot.com/2006/04/revit-inside.html). I'm interested in providing a way for Revit firms, that might want to collaborate with one another, to find one another. I've reserved a web address www.revitinside.com (http://www.revitinside.com) just in case there is some interest in developing such a list.

It could be hosted by the Revit Community here at AUGI instead perhaps? Just looking for feedback.

Interesting concept. It could also expand to include consultants or freelance Revit users looking to build models for firms?

Update...

I have created a blog to hold this subject for now. Anyone using the address www.revitinside.com (http://www.revitinside.com) will be redirected to the blog. This link will take you straight there via the actual path, Revit Inside (http://revitinside.blogspot.com/).

There is an initial post, a greeting, and a second that IS the list. Those firms that have emailed me directly with a desire to be part of the list are included already. A short list but then this is only a day old  Hopefully more firms will find it is useful too? Time will tell. (If your firm isn't already listed I'm being very literal, you or someone from your firm needs to tell me to do so, no assumptions on my part)

I see no reason why the list should not include firms or individuals that are offering contract services. As you'll see in the list I've started there is a heading for such offerings.

In general I'd like to see this as just a link page to other websites so that implies that anyone interested in being part of the list needs to have a web presence. If that isn't equitable then I'll have to include contact information for those firms or all.

Could be useful to distinguish locations also - either with categories in the list or perhaps a country or state reference after the name? e.g. Owen Consultancy LLP (UK)

Good idea, I think even one step further - Andrew Lashley Design Ltd. Rickmansworth,UK. ha . . then we can have emergency Revit drop in hotspots! :-)

Yes...been mulling over location since yesterday... Firms with offices everywhere, though fewer of them, means multiple listings or do they get grouped under "Global" instead of North America, UK, Australia etc. Definitely need some good organization of information, searchable etc.

A couple folks who replied via email said that they thought this sort of thing should be coordinated with the AIA, or similar organizations. They already have a database of firms and could potentially add a Revit Inside "Yes/No" data record to their existing databases. Getting this done though will require some lobbying etc.

For now, as the list is small I'll keep it simple. As it grows I'll improve the way it is organized.

Another thought I had was to just set up a new Frappr (http://www.frappr.com) map? Like Chris Zoog did awhile back. Except it is really sluggish on my computer.

Thanks for the comments!

Probably because I am thick! Thanks for the gee up! I sent the email off to Steve just now. All I have to do is get my web site operational, been letting the splash page sit for too long.
