Automatic Notification of Element Borrowing?

Does anybody know if 9 will have this feature? Seems like a bit of a pain to have to get up and go down the hall and ask everytime I want to borrow an element...or stop and type an email. I don't know if this belongs in the wish list with the new release being so close.

How does everybody else deal with this?

I don't recall reading anything about this being part of the next release. It is a common request.

Now to minimize it, encourage everyone to refrain from checking out User Created worksets. Using element borrowing only means you'll have to discuss who does what more often than you might be used to. It is really important that the team discusses what is to be done frequently, not doing so means more Editing Requests.

When you encounter someone who refuses to just borrow what they said they will, delegate the changes you find needing to be done to them since they own the object already :smile:

Try to compartmentalize what to do into much smaller bites of work, what'll get done in the next ten minutes instead of the next four hours. This means borrowing less and returning more often which reduces the chances of bumping into each other.
