Can a central file re-name itself like when an AutoCAD file becomes a recovery file, the reason I'm asking is that two people working on it were unable save back to the central file. I had a look at the central file and its name had changed to have the suffix (name of file)_corrupt.rvt, now I have my suspicions that one of the users for some unknown reason might have re-named the file, so I thought that I'd check if the file could re-name itself before taking any action.

This is an extract from one of the log files:

MessageBox "An error has been detected in the central file. It has been renamed, *****************Jobs folderJOBS 4*** ********* ***** ******drawingsWorking drawingsRevitBuilding Regs Cost Savings_corrupt.rvt.

Has anyone ever had this happen to them before, I would be very grateful of any information.

Regards, Paul.

P.S. I probably wont be able to reply to this uuntilnext Friday as I'm off to Barcelona for five days. :-D

Yes it can Paul. This only occurs when your file has been corrupted while your saving to Central. I've had this happen before. Simply copy a local file and rename it to a central file. Then release the worksets and make the users open from there and resave to local again.

Thanks Elmo, just making sure that someone hadn't changed the file name on purpose, was thinking up suitable punishments if they had.

No problem. Glad things have been sorted out.
