Hi
Check out the following Technical Document on the AutoDesk web site under the Knowledge Base section -
ID: TS65001 - Solid fills do not display correctly when plotting (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/item?siteID=123112&id=2885193&linkID=2475323)
Have a good one, Mike

Do you use wipeouts?

I have had this a lot recently on drawings from certain surveyors repeatadly and don't know what they are doing differently to make this happen. As the OP mentioned, we also check that fillmode is set to 1. I wasnt aware of the textfill variable, I will try and see if this fixes it next time it happens.
Sometimes copying all data into a blank drawing fixes it, other times it does not.

Depending on what the surveyors use for their drafting, that could be the problem. I've had trouble with Eagle Point drawings in the past. Maybe you could ask them what they use. Try running an AUDIT on the drawings too, you never know what could happen during conversion.
OH! One last thought. How far from origin (0,0,0) is the content of the drawing? I've known AutoCAD to go strange on drawings that are really far away from origin before.

Good point, I should also point out that the Z value has a definite effect on the appearance of most True Type fonts. Assuming that moshira_hassan is in fact using the True Type font version of Arial.

I had forgot about that.

Fascinating comments. Thanks :)
All our surveyors work in AutoCAD here in our office on the same version which have been set up the same.
Nearly all of our topo surveys are 3D AND far from 0,0. The UK National grid typically has values around 530,000 and 180,000.
I cant recall exactly which drawings we had this problem with off the top of my head. I will bear these facts in mind the next time I see it. There is no chance we would be able to flatten anything here as our clients specifically want all text to be at the same value of the feature it represents. Maybe these facts will help the OP.
