Exceeded iteration limit when evaluating curve

I'm modelling a circular pump sump to calculate the volume of concrete required. I've created the model using solids and need to combine all the elements to create one solid. When I use UNION it comes back with 'Exceeded iteration limit when evaluating curve'. I've tried slicing the curved element to remove the duplicated mass but the same error happens.

Anyone got any ideas?
