I have linked my arch file into a revit drawing and continue to tweak the views. Thanks to rafterman to th heads up on Show all disciplines check box.

I am a sole practitioner and want to be able to do all my MEP work in one Revit Systems file. Only question is that when I tried setting up my first project in Systems the default I choose was Electrical to start. now I want to add another discipline to the project browser and it has been coming up Architectural not Mechanical. How will I rename or set the Floor plan from Architectural to Mechanical?

Thanks

Copy the floor plan from mechanical, in View Properties, under Graphics, last entry is Discipline, select the electrical popup. You can do this with any view. (I think anyway)

Make sure that you apply the Mechanical view template also. If you don't do that the duplicated view keeps the visibility graphics from the electrical or architectural view, and your mechanical stuff will not show up. To apply a view template, in the project browser right-click on the view you want to apply the template to, and select Apply View Template. In the Select View Template menu select the Mechanical Plan.

This is beautiful when you know how it works.
