In my Holechrtes (which i use extensivly) Holes are seldomely described by the Standard descriptions. The standard descrips do not have the capacity for things like: Drill & Jig grind for ØX/X" Dowel, Drill Ø1/4" start hole & Wire to Ø.5002", Drill & ream for Ø3/8" dowel x 1" Relieve remainder Ø13/32", Things of this nature. Also when i need to describe c'bores (all the time) I need to use this format: Drill & C'Bore for Ø1/2" SHCS x .563".

Currently i just use sketched symbols for each line of the Hole type table and hand enter the info. But this opens the door for human error & typo's. Not to mention the time delay from when the hole is created and when it gets detailed(described). Sometimes this could be a few days. Which by that time and dealing with in excess of 100 holes of 10-20 types. Gets tough to remember exactly how some are supposed to be. So i end up Having to go back to the ipt or iam and try to recall exactly how it should be, A few times i ended up writing it on a paper for when i go to detail. Worked but all procutivity is lost.

It would be Incredibly helpful & Make my job so very much easier if there was a text feild in the Hole creation dialog in the ipt hne i make the holes. There i could simple enter in the custom description right when the hole is made. And that is what shows up in the hole chart. Maybe there could be an XLS file with a simple list of common desriptions that are used a lot. Maybe there could be a button by the text field that you could click to automatically enter in the ansi, custom or whatever you need. that would place the pre-defined description in the text field. The benefit would be that you only need to enter the custom descriptions you use one time (when you fill in the custom XLS)

Currently we have a list of company standard hole descriptions, Which is a simple XLS sheet. We all have a printout of it in our Engineering Black book so we all use the same descrips.

Anyway, just a thought. It would make my job so much better. Much less chance for error.

Thanks.
