by no means an elegant or perfect solution, but here is a bay window we did recently. if there is a better way i would love to see it.

Neil,
the best results we have achieved is to start off with a normal window (picture window for example), then in the display properties yoou need to turn all componants off, and then add a custom 3D block to reprisent your bay, use mass elements extruded from a profile to indicate the mullions.
You will have to calculate the size of the original picture window taking into consideration the required end caps.
If you also want dwarf walls these can also be added to the 3D block (or a slab for a hanging bay), and a roof flat or pitched.
The attached bay is an example, hope this helps.

Also note the above example doesn't show the bay in 3D at the moment, but to do so you will just need to make the other display rep states the same as the overridden ones. :)

I seem to recall that there are some bay window styles at the Autodesk download site.
