We have come up with a process where we will link in a Revit 'base file' for a tenant project and copy and paste in our interior walls. After everything is setup anything that is linked in will not be recognized by the hosted family. A linked wall will not recognize a wall hosted outlet and so forth. I would like to see this fixed so that Revit can utilize the functionality of hosted families and we can utilize the benefits of linking Revit files. Linking files prevents others from altering the architectural shell of the building (according to the way that we have admin rights established on our network). Worksets can be worked around and we have tried this on an earlier project with limited success (the limited success was restricting access to the shell). Is anyone else doing much with linking files (Revit) for tenant type work?
