Has anyone else noticed yet that when you place a beam, it uses the default ASTM A572 grade 50 material type. When you look at the physical properties for it, it lists weight as being 0.49 lb/ft3 (cubic foot). ie it's off by a factor of 1000 which will really throw off your steel weigh estimates. If you look at the ASTM A36 it's listed (correctly) as 490 lb/ft3. I haven't checked the rest yet, but I wish they would at least put this stuff in correctly. Even more correctly would be 0.49 klb/ft3 since most engineering programs default to kips. They should be setting up these properties to match the AISC manual. Just my thoughts.
