Stacking alternate dimensions is so easy its cheesy.

The alternate dimension can be shown underneath the primary
dimension by putting a \P in the suffix box for primary units.
I would advise setting this up as a dimension style.

Editing a dimension can achieve the same result.
These settings can be found in the properties palette under
primary units. A good ole match properties will take care of
any other dimension you need to stack.

Do not:
Put a \P in the prefix box of the alternate units. A bracket
will stay on the top line, next to the primary units.

code \P to get second line of text ABOVE the dimension line
code \X to get second line ot text BENEATH the dimension line
code \L to get some text underlined

I don't think I understand... Can't you just specify "Below Primary Value" under the Placement section of the Alternate Units tab of the Dimension Style Dialogue Box? (whew!)

This seems to achieve the same result - is this for another version? I'm using 2004...

You are correct, that also works to achieve similar results.

I have found that using that setting some of the alternate units
are not centered under the primary units. Things look a bit
left justified at times. Maybe it is my AutoCad setup, maybe not.

My workaround has always been the above posted solution.
