I have a small shop that's growing - right now just two of us, and we're using a new very fast workstation as the central file location. The problem is that the central file location maps differently to my machine than it does to the machine it is on - on my computer, it is G:\..., and on the other machine it is C:\... Long story short, Revit won't let both of us in to a file at the same time - and when we switch off, it gives a message that the central file has been moved and needs to be re-saved. The issue seems to be the mapping. Does anybody know of a way around this or if there is another way to go? I'm looking at buying a real server next month, and I'd like to be able to wait until then if possible...

On the machine that has the revit file, share the folder that has the Central File. Then map that folder as the same drive letter on each machine, even the machine which is hosting it.

So on the host machine you'll have C:\Revit_Central\Revit AND G:\Revit, and on the other machines just G:\Revit

I haven't tried this with Revit but it has worked with other programs.
