How to make text dashed?

I would like to make my text appear like a hidden linetype. Can I do this in 2000i without any add on programs (express or any lisp programs)?

I have not verified, but perhaps you can use a plotter linetype. This would mean using a unique color/pen assignment if you are using CTBs, or creating a new name-based plot style if you are using STBs.

We have a font named DASH.SHX that will give this look. I have seen others called DOT.SHX or DOTFONT.SHX.
