I am doing some training in worksets and am getting some funny results. I have created the central file, made 3 local files. Now we are working through a sample project. A couple of things are happening:

1. only the person (me) who created the initial central file is able to borrow and check out elements of the model.

2. the other two people are getting the message "not all change worksets could be changed due to a conflict."

I am unable to pinpoint the conflict and when I check the warning logs on their machines, it isn't even listed so I cannot expand the warning to see what the problem is.

I have set up worksets before and have not had a problem with worksharing, so any troubleshooting ideas would be helpful.

Figured it out. Apparently worksharing does not work if you do not have permissions to edit files on the drive wheret the central files resides.

Another reason for that message (for future reference) is that your local file has gotten out of sequence with the Central File. You will need to open the central file ad re-save to your local drive. BTW you may loose all the work in the local file that was done while the file was out of sync.

Also, make sure that every user has a unique username in Settings. This may tend to happen in training sessions where the instructor logs into to multiple machines.

Also, don't change your username while in an open workset project. Close the project then change the username.

...Also, don't change your username while in an open workset project. Close the project then change the username...This won't work if you are in a local file. The local file is "keyed" to the username of the person who created it. If you change the username and try to open it Revit will complain and tell you to make your own local file.
