View Full Version : Open at startup.

Is there a setting that allows Revit to open a browse window at startup?
In Autocad I have it setup that way. Right now Revit starts with a blank project and I would like it not to.
I know, small and picky but I am curious.

The closest you can get is to "hide" the template Revit is looking for so it can't find it. Then it will give you an error message complaining which you accept and click open. Some folks use a template file that is practically empty so it opens quicker, then browse to the project.
This opening of a template is Windows compliance in action.

You can drag the file you want to work on directly on to teh revit icon and it will just open that file.

...I don't think this would be the answer...by the same token you could just double click on the file you want to open in Windows Explorer, but is this the right way of doing things?

I have a shortcut to a near-empty project w/ just my company's logo that I click on to open Revit. It acts like a "splash screen" if you will. That way I still have our regular office template available when I click on the New Project button on the tool bar.
