We are considering upgrading from acad to ace for designing our substations. I'm familiar with some benefits, but what I'm wondering is, for anyone who has recently gone from plain acad to ace, how long did it take to become productive? What effort did it take to get there? For us, the cost of the software is not as important as the other impacts it would have on limited labor resorces.

A training class is recommending. Mostly for all the new tools.
AutoCAD Electrical does provide a "Moving from AutoCAD to AutoCAD Electrical Guide"
Also some tutorials.
Realize that it is hard to review all the material provided and find the time.
With attending a three day or some training from Autodesk Authorized Training Center, it would help a lot.

I am going to start some electrical ATP classes ones I have one class under my belt. (little nervous). There seems to be a lot who would like additional help.

Autodesk does provide a dissection group that is very handy for questions.

It is a great product!

As to your question...not sure how long it took, we have been using this since before it was AutoCAD Electrical.
