Is there a way to disable the save layouts check box?

If you mean turn off the Save changes to Layout Tab toggle?
I dont thinks so unles you were to redefine the plot dialog
interface. It is something that could be done, only I have to wonder why?
I think the same results are possible if one were to PLOT and not
use Page Set-up and leave that toggle un-checked.

I'm not sure if you can "disable" it, but I uncheck the box using LISP.
