InkJet (8.5 x 11 sheet ) recommendations

We are looking to replace an Epson Stylus C280 inkjet that died the other day, and I get to do the shopping for it. Any recomendations on what to look for, brands to avoid, features that are super? It only needs to handle 8.5x11 sheets, no need for large format.
