If you have the full version of Acrobat then you can use the Custom Postscript Page Size to create a 36"x24" page size. I've done this in the Control Panel. Within Revit simply select Adobe PDF as your printer, choose the Custom Postscript Page Size, and you're off to the races.

Most PDF writers will have this ability to create 24 x 36 sheets. The common writers I've seen users on this forum advance are Revit PDF writer 4.2, CutePDF, PDF Factory amongst others. Most of the time in the print dialog you'll just have to go to the page setup properties and create an Arch D layout.

I use Bluebeam's product. Their product support is really great.

Cutepdf gets my vote - easy to use and quicker than the adobe writer, I've found. Complete assortment of paper sizes (much better than the small sizes in the "standard" adobe version)

I totally agree here. CutePDF is the way to go. Oh, and it's free.

I had a question about this a month ago and someone told me to go to www.pdfforge.com. I have been using that with no problems other than it is hard to know which sheet is what if you are doing multiple sheets at the same time because it will name them all the same thing. :?

Some of my colleagues and myself have found problems with Cutepdf and Bluebeam drivers when we plot rendered elevations. It drops off some of the rendering inconsistently and mutes some of the linework. Revit 4.2 has been much more consistent in producing these type of documents.
On less graphically demanding sheets we cannot see any differences.

We use CutePDF - Our sheet sizes are 1500mm x 841mm and
work well. Only problem in doing a "batch" of PDF's you have to
type files names in as they generate, so you always have to double
check file name of the PDF matches the sheet name.

Try PDF Factory from fineprint.com. I works great for batch plotting to PDF.

I would now recommend the Doro .pdf driver. The lineweight is better than the Adobe drivers, plus Doro is free. Primo is another, better than Adobe, but #2 to Doro.

I'd say in the 3 years since they posted they have probably solved the problem.
