Hey all,

I have a customer who is requesting a DXF file with UTM coordinates (for his engineering application), and not the Cartesian coordinates.

I know what UTM is, but didn't think ACAD was capable... Or can I just move my drawing's (and facility's) (0,0) to a Cartesian coordinate whose X & Y numbers matches the known UTM location?

TIA!

If he is using Land or MAP he could perform the coordinate conversion himself through
MAP. IF he is not using MAP or LAND then you might send the data to me with the
desired UTM system he desires and a reference point or points, such that I could save the
data in the correct location within that coordinate system.

No, he's not using Land or Map. He's using an Air (as in atmosphere) Dispersion modelling program to analyze one of our Gas Processing Plants.

Ok send me the data as requested an I will translate it to utm for you.
Note, this will cause you to have to reset you SNAPBASE for some
AutoCAD functions like hatching due to the large coordinate values
that will result.

Hi

Please note I've *moved* this Topic (Thread) from the AutoCAD Customization Forum (http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=118) to this one as I believe it would be better served here.

Thanks, Mike
